What is the Erase command in AutoCAD?

The Erase command is very important and useful in AutoCAD. This command is placed in the Modify panel in the Home tab. This command is useful in AutoCAD for erasing or deleting lines or any object very easily.

1. The Erase command is placed in the modified panel in the Home tab. Or we can type ‘E’ in the command bar to invoke the erase command.

2. After selecting the command, select a line or object which we want to erase by ‘direct selection‘, ‘crossing window selection‘ (right to left dragging), or ‘window selection‘ (left to right dragging) method.

3. Right-click or press the Enter key.

4. Line or object will be erased.

1. For example, I want to erase one line as shown.

2. Select the Erase command from the Modify panel in the Home tab. Or type ‘E’ in the command bar and press Enter.

3. Select the line by the direct selection method.

4. Press ‘Enter’ or ‘Right-click’.

5. Object or line will be erased in the drawing.
